Занятие рекомендуется проводить в качестве вводного занятия по теме «Eating out». Учащиеся
получают основную лексику по теме, изучают карты меню в кафе и тренируются составлять
функциональные ситуации.
Подготовительная работа :
Подготовить раздаточный материал: карты меню, лексику (можно напечатать всю новую лексику
урока на одном листе бумаги и раздать учащимся в начале урока), карточки с рисунками еды для
задания “Expressing likes and dislikes”
Ход мероприятия
Teacher: Good afternoon. I’m glad to see you. How are you? So, let’s begin our lesson. The theme of our
lesson is «Eating out». Can anybody explain what it means? (Учащиеся пытаются объяснить,
что
значит выражение «Eating out»). Yes, eating out means eating in cafes? Restaurants and so on. When
you came to a café you usually take menu and order something. Here is the menu of a Hamburger Bar.
Let’s study it.

dialog between an assistant and two friends. Be attentive! Read/listen to this dialog and find the answer to
the question: “What have the friends ordered?”
Assistant: Hello! Can I help you?
Mike: Yes, one cheeseburger and a large coke.
Assistant: And you?
Peter: One chicken in a bun and a milk shake, please.
Assistant : Would you like something else?
Mike : Yes, chips, please. How much is it?
Assistant : It’s J 3.65, please.
Mike : Here it is. Thank you.
Assistant: Thank you. Good-bye.
Teacher: Well, what have the friends ordered?
Pupils: A cheeseburger, a large coke, chips, a chicken in a bun and a milk shake.
Teacher: That’s right. How do you think what other things can be in the menu?
Pupils: Ice cream, pizza, tea, coffee, …
Teacher: Right. Now I’ll give you a list of words. Please, all together repeat after me: pizza, roast
chicken, meat fie, baked potato, soup, fish and chips, fruit salad, ice-cream, hot chocolate, tea, coffee,
mineral water, fizzy drink. All these things can be in the menu of a café. Now I’ll show you a picture with
one of these things and your task is to match the picture and the word. Don’t cry; raise your hand if you
know the answer.
Учитель по очереди показывает картинки и спрашивает “What’s this?” Незнакомые слова учащиеся
записывают в словарь.
Учитель: Когда мы приходим в кафе, мы общаемся с официантом. И для этого нам необходимо
знать определенные фразы и слова. Давайте познакомимся с ними. Well, here are these words and

Teacher: Now, I’ll show yousome pictures with different food and dishes. What food looks good and
what food looks bad? Try to express your opinion, for example, this is an apple, it looks very tasty. But
this apple looks awful.
Teacher: Now let’s imagine that we are in a café. Some of you will be waiters and some of you will be
clients. Let’s distribute the roles. I have yellow and green cards. Close your eyes and choose a card.
Pupils with yellow cards will be waiters. Pupils with green cards will be clients. Each pair will get the
menu card. So, study it make short dialogues between a waiter and a client.

Учащиеся внимательно изучают меню и составляют небольшие функциональные ситуации.
Teacher: Well. Now let’s play some funny game. It is “Eatable – Uneatable”. I’ll throw you a ball and
say a word. For example, “apple”. If we can eat , you should say “Eatable”. If we can’t eat it you should
say “Uneatable”. Then you should throw the ball back to me.
Possible words: meat, fruit, menu, fish, waiter, fork, plate, ice cream and so on.
Teacher: Well, our lesson is over. We have spoken a lot about food and café’s menu, made up dialogues,
and played games. You should improve your knowledge in the topic “Eating out”. Well, thank you for the
